The Fire Installation Project Manager for Government Contracts oversees fire protection and installation projects, ensuring they comply with government standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations. This role involves coordinating with government agencies, managing teams and subcontractors, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget. The Project Manager is responsible for aligning project activities with national fire safety codes, building codes, and government-specific requirements. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Compliance Develop detailed project plans, ensuring compliance with government norms, fire safety regulations (such as NFPA standards), and other applicable codes. Review contract documents and understand specific government requirements, including technical specifications and regulatory mandates. Coordinate with regulatory bodies and government officials to acquire necessary permits, inspections, and certifications before, during, and after installation. Fire Installation Oversight Supervise the installation of fire systems, including sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and emergency evacuation systems. Ensure the use of approved materials, components, and methods in accordance with government and industry standards. Monitor quality and safety at every stage, conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with fire protection codes. Project Documentation and Reporting Maintain detailed documentation of all project activities, including work schedules, materials used, inspection reports, and safety compliance records. Prepare and submit project reports to government officials and stakeholders as required by contract terms. Ensure proper storage and management of project records, including certifications, permits, and completed project documents. Financial Management Create and manage project budgets, ensuring all financial activities align with government procurement and expense standards. Review and approve expenses, ensuring alignment with budget constraints and reporting requirements. Coordinate with the finance department to process payments to vendors and subcontractors, in line with government payment procedures. Contract and Stakeholder Management Serve as the main point of contact for government officials, stakeholders, and subcontractors, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project. Oversee contract compliance and resolve any contractual issues or disputes that may arise during the project lifecycle. Organize and attend meetings with government representatives to discuss project status, inspections, and compliance updates. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance Ensure that all fire installation activities comply with safety regulations, environmental policies, and government health standards. Develop and enforce safety protocols on-site to minimize risk to workers, occupants, and property. Conduct regular HSE training sessions and monitor compliance with safety protocols among all personnel on the project site. Team Leadership and Management Lead a team of installers, engineers, and subcontractors, providing direction, support, and technical guidance. Assign tasks and oversee performance to ensure timely and quality completion of fire installation work. Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage professional development among team members. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Fire Protection, Project Management, or related field. Fire safety certifications (such as NFPA, NICET, or equivalent) are strongly preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection or installation projects, with a proven track record in government contracts. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with national fire codes (NFPA, BIS standards) and building codes, and knowledge of fire protection systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, hydrant systems). Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of government contract requirements, safety regulations, and environmental compliance. Software Skills: Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), CAD software for reviewing fire installation designs, and financial software for budget tracking.
